How can such a commercialy whored franchise be sooo good =(
I'm normally not one for bells and whistles that are often tied to shows/movies/games but damn .hack is just so good it makes it hard to not want to get into the whole immersion of the franchise. I've watched downloaded subs of the entire .hack//sign series, and If I can find it cheap enough I'd like to pick up the dvds (dub or sub).
Being an avid MMORPG and Anime fan this series just fits me so well.
I've currently got .hack//infection and //mutation on ps2 and plan on getting the other 2 when they come down in price.

Re: So Expensive
Tue, January 20, 2004 - 7:42 PMWell my friend, I know what you mean. For all this money .hack should be a real online rpg. That would be cool and worth 50 bucks to spend. I dont think bandai is going to create a new .hack game where you have the visor as a expansion. I have all 4 games and Iam playing the last.

Re: So Expensive
Sat, January 24, 2004 - 11:27 PMI have the first two parts and I am currently working on the second. I know the prices are sky high, so I am using a service called Gamefly. I can rent them for a long as like, and even buy them at used prices. Well, not all titles but is a good solution for a tight budget like mine.

Thu, February 12, 2004 - 5:17 AMI also watched the downloaded subs, and would love to pick it up on Dvd when I'm done wiht a few other anime series I'm in the middle of. I have the first game, and plan to get the other three as time/money allows. The soundtracks are incredible too. I tend to get bored with online mmorpgs, but if we had one like there where it's so totally submersive, I'd probably never come up just from wandering around looking at everything. *laughs* Maybe it's a good thing we don't. :) -

Re: So Expensive
Thu, February 12, 2004 - 7:11 PMThey sould of made the games like the show. A real online rpg, they could hold a contest and the person who one gets the ability of Data Drain. You can sit infront of your computer and use a game pad or a mouse to move your character. Instead of us talking on this board we could chat in "The World." -

Re: So Expensive
Fri, February 13, 2004 - 7:39 AMThat'd take years to create. I'd estimate in the range of 8-15 years for something that complex to ever be made. But I totally agree that it'd be worth it. I wouldn't leave my room for days on end. XD

Re: So Expensive
Sun, February 15, 2004 - 11:23 AMThe whole series, the anime series (on TV), the games, the game DVDs, and the manga series were all conscuted to tell a big tale. They are designed to experienced in a certain order, (The Dot Hack's Timeline): (1.) Anime Series (2.) Games/Game DVDs (3.) Manga. So, to answer your question is made more like the show. If do the right things, you can even get clips from the show in the game. (I saw at least one in mutation so far) Pretty Cool huh? -
